Project Manager - Federal Government

Remote - Decatur, GA

Position Summary:

The Project Manager will support the Program Manager in overseeing the Defense Travel Management Office (DTMO) travel programs and strategic initiatives. This role involves managing day-to-day tasks to ensure successful project execution and providing tactical support.

Responsibilities:

  1. Support Program Manager: Assist the Program Manager with a variety of program-related tasks to ensure overall project success.
  2. Single Point of Contact (POC): Serve as the single POC to meet bi-weekly with DTMO to discuss the status and schedule of various programs, including any known or anticipated issues.
  3. Task Management: Manage daily tasks and activities to ensure project milestones and deadlines are met.
  4. Project Schedules: Maintain project schedules and correspondence task lists.
  5. Status Reporting: Submit Monthly Status Reports detailing the status of activities performed during the previous calendar month, including:
  • Period of report
  • Summary of work performed for the reporting period
  • Progress towards open efforts
  • Planned actions towards new efforts
  • Deliverables submitted
  • Project schedules
  • Status/schedule of documents (being updated) with priorities
  • Known or anticipated issues with a plan of action

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 5 years of DoD travel experience.
  • PMP certification is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and task management skills.
  • Ability to manage daily tasks and meet project deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with DoD travel programs and systems.
