Position Summary: We are seeking a detail‑oriented and analytical Cost Estimator who excels in evaluating project costs, developing accurate estimates, and supporting construction planning and procurement activities. The ideal candidate is highly collaborative, able to work effectively with project managers, engineers, and field personnel, and demonstrates strong critical‑thinking skills. Cost Estimators must possess a solid understanding of construction methods, materials, labor requirements, and market pricing to provide reliable cost projections that help guide project decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and contingencies.
  • Analyze project drawings, specifications, and related documents to ensure accuracy and completeness of estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to validate scope, assumptions, and cost drivers.
  • Research and maintain current data on pricing trends, vendor rates, material costs, and industry benchmarks.
  • Develop quantity takeoffs and cost breakdowns for all project components.
  • Review and assess subcontractor and vendor quotes for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project requirements.
  • Participate in risk assessments and provide cost impact analyses for design changes, scope adjustments, or alternative construction approaches.
  • Assist in developing budgets, proposals, and bid submissions to support business development and project planning efforts.
  • Track and update cost data, estimate logs, and historical pricing for continuous improvement and future planning.
  • Prepare cost reports, presentations, and supporting documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 3–5 years of cost estimating experience in construction, engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry cost structures.
  • Proficiency with estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, RSMeans, PlanSwift, or similar).
  • Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; cost estimating certifications (e.g., AACE) are a plus.
